The Mergers

Jenny and Amanda are like chalk and cheese in one respect, but become very good friends. Jenny, in fact, owes her life to Amanda! When in their teens, the boy who assaulted Jenny, is found dead. Stabbed. Somehow, the long and deep friendship then falls apart, and when they eventually meet again, the circumstances are quite different. Amanda again saves Jenny’s life! She also finds out about the stabbing! During the interval, Amanda graduates, and then makes a fool of herself with her new boss, Mr Matthews, on her first day at work! She is then chosen to represent the company, which means she then has to spend more time with Ben Matthews. When she learns that Ben Matthews will accompany her, she is terrified. However, she then finds out that he is human after all! Ben Matthews has had problems of his own, as a lone parent bringing up a wayward daughter, Susan. Then, just before her A levels, a new neighbour becomes friendly with Susan. But it is Amanda who first spots that there could be more than just friendship. Does it echo her own developing friendship with Ben? As their friendship moves towards a significant stage, Amanda has to represent her company again, but this time in a country towards the Middle East. Ben feels that would be unethical for him to accompany her this time, but Susan is allowed to go. Unfortunately, another passenger on their private jet is wanted by certain people with Middle East connections. They don‘t ask, they take, and are prepared to die in the process! Two men at home are desperate! Will they both lose out on their second time around?
