During a visit to his grandparents’ house, Dalton discovers a shiny old robot stored safely inside a clear box. The robot—named Plumbum—explains that he was made long ago with materials that may contain lead, which can be harmful if it enters the body. With calm guidance from his mama, Dalton learns simple safety habits like washing hands, asking before touching, and keeping objects out of the mouth. Inspired, he creates a colorful safety poster and teaches his classmates how to stay safe. Later, his dad brings home a brand-new robot made from safe materials, and Dalton learns that curiosity and safety can go hand in hand. Written by Dr. Kabi, Dalton and the Shiny Robot is a gentle, empowering story for ages 4–8 that helps children understand safety without fear while encouraging imagination, confidence, and healthy choices.
